New Properties, A Blog, & Giving Back: 2013 Year in Review

This past year has certainly been an eventful one for us here at Garden Communities. Now more than ever, we are excited to be part of the GC Team. Since 1954, Garden Communities has offered a plethora of rental apartments throughout the northeast, and we are happy to announce that this past year we broke ground on four additional properties in New Jersey.

We’ve often been told from members of New Jersey communities that living someplace that has easy access to highways, public transportation, shopping, dining, and entertainment is important. Our following newest properties deliver.

Riverfront at Cranford Station Located in Union County

Riverfront

We broke ground on this community earlier in 2013. It offers one and two bedroom apartments priced between $1,950 and $2,600. Residents have been living in this community’s first residential building for several months now while new residents are just moving in to the recently completed, second residential building. This property has an on-site fitness center, club room, jogging/walking trail, and much more. In addition to residential space, the two buildings offer retail and office space, that’s expected to be completed this spring. We will welcome a Subway and Starbucks on-site!

Riverfront at Cranford Station is located in the heart of Central Jersey. Easily hop on the Garden State Parkway for a trip to one of New Jersey’s popular beaches or walk across the street to take the Cranford Station on Raritan Train Line for a trip to New York City.

Fair Lawn Promenade Located in Bergen County

Fair Lawn

In its final stages of construction, Fair Lawn Promenade offers one, two, and three bedroom apartments. It also offers plenty of great amenities, just to name a few, they include: daytime concierge, fitness center, billiards room, resident lounge, and walking distance to a train station. At this prestigious Promenade, you won’t need to take a vacation because living here will feel like one. Sorry, we don’t offer room service but you can mix up some home cooked dinner on your granite countertops or enjoy take out from the many local restaurants.

We anticipate that this community’s leasing office will open in March 2014. Shortly following, residents and businesses will move in, as this community also offers retail and office spaces. This community will be anchored by TKL Research, Inc. — a full-service clinical research organization.

Garden Commercial Properties has signed leases with several well-known restaurants and retailers such as Starbucks, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, Cups Frozen Yogurt, Noodles, Habit Burger, Qdoba, European Wax Center, Massage Envy, and Verizon Wireless, with more to come that will be conveniently located at the Promenade.

Woodcrest at Clark Located in Union County

Woodcrest

This exquisite 55+ rental community is located adjacent to the Union County Parkland that has breathtaking views. Each one and two bedroom apartment is spacious and this property has a cozy clubhouse. We just opened the leasing office. This community’s model apartment is anticipated to be complete within the next few weeks. Residents will begin moving in within the next few months and COAH Guideline apartments (affordable housing) are coming in Summer 2014. Stay tuned for more information.

Stone Bridge at Raritan in Somerset County

Stone Bridge

While construction is still being completed at this community, residents have occupied several apartments since February 2013. It’s a pet friendly community at which residents and their pets live in luxury. Here’s just a few things residents get at Stone Bridge: a bocce court, a swimming pool, an appealing clubhouse with fitness center, and plenty of green open space for outdoor recreations (and pets to run around). Children who reside at this community attend the desirable Bridgewater-Raritan School System and working parents enjoy easy access to NJ Transit and major highways.

Garden Communities Gives Back

In November, several of our community managers organized a food drive to support people in their local community who are less fortunate. They encouraged residents to donate non-perishable items and they collected food at their rental offices. In total, more than 200 items were collected. At our West Mill Apartments in West Orange, one resident spent more than $200 on food to contribute! Learn more about the food drive and the communities that participated.

Halloween Parade Brings Neighbors Together

In an effort to bring neighbors together at two communities that are located next to each other, a Halloween Parade was held between our London Terrace and Parkwood Communities. The parade had a large turnout as more than 200 residents attended. Children broken up in two age groups (ages 1 through 8 and 9 through 12) were awarded with prizes for the scariest, most creative, and funniest costumes.

To our residents: Thanks for renting with us and for helping us make 2013 a successful year! We look forward to serving you in 2014. Please check back in with this blog often, as we will provide you with information on the latest happenings at Garden Communities along with valuable information on how to make the most out of your rental.
