Flu Immunizations Offered to Woodcrest at Clark Residents

Woodcrest

For most people, fall makes them think about the changing colors of leaves, picking apples/pumpkins, or cheering on your favorite football team. For us, it is time to encourage our residents to take precautions against catching the flu. 90 percent of flu-related deaths and 50 percent of flu-related hospitalizations happen in Americans over age 65, according to a study by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.  For our over 55 communities, it’s important that our residents know how to prevent getting an airborne illness.

To counteract this statistic, we offered flu immunizations on September 24 at Woodcrest at Clark, one of Garden Communities newest adult lifestyle communities.

Dr. Howard Sourifman, Wellness Ambassador for Rite Aid Pharmacy, administered the shots. He has provided flu immunizations for businesses, adult communities, schools, and assisted living facilities throughout the state of New Jersey.

“First, let me commend Garden Communities on providing a stellar living environment for your residents, perhaps the best in Union County,” Dr. Sourifman exclaimed. “I got great feedback from many of your residents and I am sure that it made Woodcrest even more special for your residents.”

Dr. Sourifman would also like to thank Sara Dotro for her “efficient, courteous, and professional help.”  He added that “She is a great asset to Garden Communities and we hope to continue our relationship with Woodcrest at Clark!”
