Westmount Village has welcomed another treasured resident to the Golden Residents club, which honors residents who have lived in their Garden Communities apartment for five decades or more. Hilda Luchetti was honored with one year of free rent recently during a special ceremony held in her Woodland Park apartment, where she has lived for 50 years. Hilda is the 10th member of the esteemed group of Golden Residents, joining Diana Lacey as the 2nd member living at the Passaic County apartment community. Both residents noted the property management staff are among the primary reasons for staying at Westmount Village.
About Hilda Luchetti
Hilda Luchetti moved to Westmount Village in the early 1970s. She is a self-proclaimed, self-made woman who loved the community’s proximity to shopping, dining, and transportation routes. Her daughter was an airline worker, which allowed her to travel nearly every weekend.
Travel is not her only love. She has created a library of books inside her apartment, totaling nearly 150 books, noting Stuart Woods as her favorite. And if you’re looking for more information on how to cultivate your green thumb, Hilda should be your primary source. “The whole bedroom is full of plants,” Hilda says. “I raised one that started off with one leaf but is now very full. There’s a tree that’s 35 years old in the bedroom.” She has a thermometer that she uses to ascertain when to water her plants, while having several gallons of water to sit out for a day or two to “let the oxygen out” before watering.
